How do I convert my additional documents into PDF format?

Your transcript must be submitted in a PDF format. Your letters of recommendation can be uploaded into the system as well, if you have them. This can be accomplished in several ways:

  1. Ask— request that your school provide you with an electronic copy of your resume and/or financial needs analysis. You should also ask the individual writing your letter of recommendation to provide a PDF. If you need help converting a word document to a PDF follow this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PIiwxDQ6yk
  2. Scan it—Connect your computer to a scanner and convert paper documents to PDF files. Process will vary by scanner. Please consult your scanner manual for instructions.
  3. Snap a pic— scan the documents using your phone and the Genius Scan app. It is a free app that can be downloaded to your smartphone. Using your phone’s camera, take a picture of your documents and turn them into a PDF. If you use this option, we suggest emailing the documents to your computer and uploading them from there into the scholarship application.
