Cheryl Washington and Denisesha (Speer) Brewer Memorial
The Washington – (Speer) Brewer Scholarship was established in 2026 and is the result of donations given to the Chahta Foundation by the family of Cheryl Washington and Denisesha (Speer) Brewer – beloved mothers, friends, sisters, and daughters. United by their calling as nurses and their friendship, they brought comfort, healing, and laughter to so many. We honor their memory with this scholarship.This competitive scholarship is to be awarded to Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma students who are accepted into or currently enrolled in an accredited program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Murray State University, Northeastern State University, Grayson County College, or Kiamichi Tech in Durant, Oklahoma. The Washington – (Speer) Brewer Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship awarded at $500 per Fall and Spring semester while the recipient is attending an accredited institution. The scholarship will be paid directly to the accredited institution and covers qualified education expenses such as tuition, fees, and course-related expenses such as books, supplies, and equipment should the recipient meet the following requirements.
