The Heritage and Healing Scholarship was established in 2024 and is the result of donations given to the Chahta Foundation in honor of Dr. Ryan Taylor, a proud Chahta and nuclear radiologist who dedicated his life to healing the sick worldwide. His emphasis on compassion, skill, and the pursuit of better health outcomes for individuals align seamlessly with the field of nursing. This competitive scholarship is to be awarded to Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma students pursuing a degree in nursing. The Heritage and Healing Scholarship is a $5,000 scholarship renewable annually for up to four years provided the recipient meets scholarship requirements. This scholarship is awarded at $2,500 per Fall and Spring semester while the recipient is attending an accredited 2-year program or 4-year program institution. Applicant requirements

  • 2.5 GPA
  • Accepted into or currently enrolled in an accredited 2-year program or 4-year nursing program
  • Renewable annually for up to four years
