David W. Dodson
The David W. Dodson Scholarship was established in 2024 and is the result of donations given to the Chahta Foundation in honor of David W. Dodson, who was raised in Durant, Oklahoma and aspired to explore the world. He pursued higher education at Notre Dame and Penn University, earning a PhD and Juris Doctorate. Throughout his academic journey, he fulfilled his dream of traveling the world while remaining deeply connected to his Chahta heritage. This competitive scholarship is to be awarded to Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma students who reside on the reservation who have been accepted into or are currently enrolled in the in-person undergraduate degree program of their choice at an accredited institution outside the state of Oklahoma. The David W. Dodson Scholarship is a $500 scholarship awarded at $250 per Fall and Spring semester while the recipient is attending an accredited 2-year program or 4-year program institution. Applicant requirements
- 2.5 GPA
- Accepted or currently enrolled in the in-person undergraduate degree program of their choice at an accredited institution outside the state of Oklahoma
