Christa Thompson Layman Memorial

The Christa Thompson Layman Memorial Scholarship was established in 2023 and is the result of donations given to the Chahta Foundation in memory of Christa Lynn Thompson who dedicated her life to her family and educating children. Her memory is a cherished legacy that continues to illuminate the lives of all who knew her. This competitive scholarship is to be awarded to Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma students who are graduating high school within the state of Oklahoma at the time of application and are pursing a bachelor’s degree in the education field. The Christa Thompson Layman Memorial Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship awarded at $500 per Fall and Spring semester while the recipient is attending an accredited 4-year program institution. Full eligibility requirements can be found in the guidelines.
